There are two mainstream magnetization processes for automotive permanent magnet motors: magnetization before assembly and assembly followed by overall magnetization. Pre-magnetized magnets are prone to attracting each other and colliding during assembly, resulting in magnetic loss. The magnetic attraction effect also increases assembly difficulty and can easily cause misalignment of the magnetic poles. The “assemble first, then magnetize as a whole” approach circumvents these challenges. By magnetizing the rotor after the magnets are securely fixed in place, this method prevents mutual interference and damage from collisions, ensuring a uniform magnetic field distribution.
